Cross-disciplinary and Integrative Competence in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering

The ability to understand from a broad perspective the configuration and systems of electronic devices and mechanical equipment that integrate electrical and mechanical technologies.

The ability to design representative components that make up electronic devices, mechanical equipment, and medical devices.

Curriculum: Educational Policy

In the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, we have constructed a curriculum focused on cultivating comprehensive abilities to acquire knowledge in the fields of mechanical, electrical, and information engineering, and to transform that knowledge into "practical skills." We also provide programs to acquire the fundamental knowledge necessary for the design and development of mechanical devices, electronic equipment, and medical/bio-devices, and we foster the ability to design these devices through experiments and practical training.

Organization

The Department of Mechatronics Engineering was established by reallocating the capacity of the historically and traditionally significant Departments of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Systems Engineering, and Transportation Machinery Engineering.

In the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, specialized faculty from the collaborating departments teach the fundamentals and applications of mechanical and electrical engineering, while the faculty of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering provide education on the foundational technologies of mechatronics.
